When There Is a Need, We Want to Help
Sometimes people do not need a handout. They need a hand up. Bread of Life Care Ministry exists to respond when members of our community reach out with a specific need.
We may not be a large ministry, and our resources are limited. But limited resources should never become an excuse for limited compassion. Our mission is to listen, identify the need and provide whatever help we reasonably can.

Where we start
Meeting people in their moment of need
Life can become difficult quickly. A person may suddenly find themselves looking for work. A family may be stretching groceries until the next paycheck.
Someone may have a basic personal need they simply cannot afford to meet. Essential items that many of us take for granted become hard to buy when a person is struggling. Care Ministry exists to help meet some of those needs.

Sometimes the need is bigger than a box of groceries
Our ministry is not limited to providing physical items.
Sometimes the most valuable thing we can provide is information, direction or a connection to another resource. Someone may need help knowing where to begin a job search. They may need assistance identifying community resources. They may simply need someone willing to listen and help them figure out their next step.
We want to be that starting point. When we can help directly, we will. When another organization is better equipped, we will do our best to connect people with it.

We give what we are able to give
Care Ministry operates with a simple understanding. We cannot do everything, but we can do something. Our ministry is small and our funds are limited, so we sometimes have to make difficult decisions about how far our resources can stretch.
We do not measure the value of a ministry by the size of its budget. A bag of groceries can provide relief. A blanket can provide warmth. A toothbrush can provide dignity. A conversation can provide encouragement. A resource can provide a path forward.

A ministry built on faith
We believe God calls His people to care for one another, and that ministry does not have to begin with having everything we need.
Sometimes it begins with simply being willing. Willing to answer the phone. Willing to listen. Willing to share what we have. Willing to help someone find the next step. And willing to trust that God can multiply what we place in His hands.

Today Care Ministry is small with limited resources. We believe it can become something much greater as more people see the needs within our community.
Volunteer
Give a few hours to sort, pack, deliver or listen.
Donate essentials
Socks, blankets, new garments, toothbrushes and shelf stable food.

Every gift stretches how far we can say yes to a neighbor.

Point us to a resource, or tell someone who needs help that we are here.
Our hope is not simply to grow bigger. Our hope is to become more capable of saying yes when someone in our community asks for help.

We may not always be able to provide everything someone needs. But we can always begin with compassion. We can listen without judgment. We can treat people with dignity. We can help where we can.
